This postpartum travel nurse role is ideal for a skilled RN who thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented women’s health environment. You’ll care for patients recovering from vaginal and cesarean deliveries, support healthy newborns and NAS infants, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver exceptional maternal-child care.

Weekend Coverage: Required
Float: May float to similar-acuity antepartum or postpartum units as needed
Job Requirements
Minimum 2 years of postpartum nursing experience
Active RN license in hand at time of submission
BLS certification required
NRP certification required
IV certification and strong IV start skills
Labor & delivery experience preferred
EPIC experience required
Telemetry interpretation experience required
Ability to pass an EKG exam prior to start
Experience with ACEN or CCNE-accredited nursing education preferred
Strong communication, teamwork, and family education skills
Responsibilities
Provide compassionate care to postpartum patients recovering from vaginal and cesarean deliveries
Monitor maternal assessments, fundal checks, lochia, pain levels, and recovery progress
Support newborn care, including feeding guidance, infant assessments, and patient education
Administer medications and IV therapies safely and accurately
Recognize and respond to changes in maternal or newborn condition
Educate families on postpartum recovery, breastfeeding, newborn care, and discharge readiness
Care for postpartum readmissions and patients with conditions such as wound infection or preeclampsia
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver family-centered, high-quality care
Maintain accurate documentation and support unit workflow in a busy inpatient environment
Float to appropriate units as needed to support patient care
