Lead Painter / Working Foreman

We are seeking an experienced, dependable Lead Painter / Working Foreman to take responsibility for leading residential painting projects from start to finish. This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who can produce high-quality painting work while directing helpers, maintaining jobsite organization, and ensuring customers receive professional service.

Responsibilities

· Lead and perform interior and exterior residential painting projects

· Plan and organize daily jobsite activities to keep projects moving efficiently

· Direct and train Painter’s Helpers / Apprentice Painters

· Perform and oversee surface preparation, including sanding, scraping, patching, caulking, and cleaning

· Perform high-quality brushing, rolling, and other painting applications

· Read and follow project scopes, specifications, and product requirements

· Maintain consistent quality and attention to detail throughout the project

· Protect floors, furniture, landscaping, and customer property

· Manage ladders, tools, paint, materials, and jobsite setup

· Identify material needs and communicate supply requirements

· Keep jobsites clean, organized, safe, and professional

· Communicate professionally with customers while working in their homes

· Conduct final walkthroughs and address touch-ups or punch-list items

· Report project progress, issues, and completion status to the owner

· Lead by example and maintain company standards for workmanship and customer service

What We’re Looking For

· 3+ years of professional residential painting experience preferred

· Strong knowledge of surface preparation and paint application

· Able to produce clean, consistent, professional-quality work

· Able to confidently lead a small crew

· Dependable, punctual, and organized

· Strong attention to detail

· Good communication and customer-service skills

· Able to work independently and make sound decisions on the job

· Comfortable working from ladders and step ladders

· Able to lift approximately 50 lbs.

· Reliable transportation

· Valid driver’s license preferred

· Must take pride in workmanship and care about the finished product

Leadership Expectations

The Lead Painter / Working Foreman is expected to be the standard-setter on the jobsite. The right person will:

· Set the pace and work ethic for the crew

· Teach helpers proper preparation and painting techniques

· Catch problems before they become customer issues

· Keep the crew productive without sacrificing quality

· Maintain a clean and organized jobsite

· Treat customers, their homes, and their property with respect

· Take ownership of the quality and progress of each project

Pay

Approximately $22–$26 per hour, depending on experience, skill level, leadership ability, reliability, and ability to independently manage projects.

Opportunities for increased compensation are available as responsibility and leadership grow.

A successful Lead Painter / Working Foreman can take a project scope, organize the crew and materials, execute the work to a high standard, communicate with the customer, and deliver a clean, professional finished project with minimal oversight from the owner.
