Weâ re looking for a Business Development Representative in the oil & gas industry.
Our client is a Western Canadian contractor providing specialized services to industrial, energy, oil and gas, pulp and paper, and construction customers. Known for its strong culture, long-term career opportunities, and commitment to employee development, the company has grown significantly over the years and continues to expand its presence across Alberta. The Business Development Representative will be responsible for generating new opportunities, building relationships with prospective and existing customers, and developing a strong sales pipeline throughout the Edmonton and extended regions.
Business Development Representative responsibilities:
Generate new business opportunities through prospecting, cold calling, and relationship development
Build and maintain relationships with industrial, energy, oil and gas, construction, and municipal customers
Conduct client meetings, site visits, and project scoping activities
Identify upcoming projects, maintenance work, shutdowns, turnarounds, and construction opportunities
Develop new markets and expand service awareness within the territory
Attend industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities
Maintain accurate records of client interactions and business development activities within CRM systems
Collaborate with operations and leadership teams to support growth initiatives and customer success The successful candidate has:
5+ years of business development, sales, or account management experience
Experience within energy or oil and gas or related sectors
Strong prospecting, cold calling, and relationship-building skills
Excellent communication and presentation abilities
Ability to work independently while contributing to a team-oriented environment
Strong organizational skills and a genuine interest in building long-term customer relationships
Valid driver's licence with a clean driver's abstract Compensation and benefits:
The discussed salary range is $85,000 to $105,000 depending on experience
