Maintenance Manager

The client is a global leader in robotics, warehouse automation, and intralogistics technology, designing and supporting sophisticated automated systems that help major distribution and manufacturing operations move, store, and manage products efficiently. This Maintenance Manager will be based onsite at a customer facility in Lockbourne, Ohio, with responsibility for the performance, reliability, and ongoing support of a highly automated material-handling environment.

The Maintenance Manager will lead the site's day-to-day maintenance and customer-support operation, providing direction and oversight to technicians, mechanics, and shift leaders supporting the automated storage and retrieval system (AS/RS). Responsibilities include planning daily, weekly, and monthly preventive and predictive maintenance, ensuring maintenance procedures are properly executed, managing system availability, and maintaining appropriate spare-parts inventory. The manager will also enforce critical safety practices including lockout/tagout, confined-space procedures, walkway clearance, and hearing protection.

This position combines technical service leadership with significant customer relationship responsibility. The Maintenance Manager will manage the customer support contract throughout its lifecycle, understand the customer's current and future operational needs, communicate system performance and emerging issues, and identify opportunities to improve or modernize the installed system. When significant technical or operational problems arise, this person will coordinate the appropriate technicians, engineering resources, business-unit leaders, and other technical experts to resolve the situation while maintaining a strong customer relationship.

The role aligns particularly well with experienced military maintenance and operations leaders who have managed technicians, equipment readiness, preventive maintenance programs, parts inventories, safety programs, and mission-critical operations. Strong potential backgrounds include Navy maintenance leaders and Chiefs, Army maintenance and logistics leaders, Air Force maintenance supervisors, Marine Corps maintenance chiefs, and other military leaders responsible for sophisticated mechanical, electrical, or automated equipment. Direct warehouse-automation experience can be valuable, but the underlying leadership skills of managing people, maintenance execution, equipment availability, safety, and operational priorities are highly transferable.

The position is onsite in Lockbourne, Ohio, in the greater Columbus area. Lockbourne provides access to the broader Columbus employment and housing market while generally offering a more manageable cost of living than many larger U.S. metropolitan areas.
