What We're Looking For

Prior Production Supervisor Experience

Must have experience working with an ERP system and ability to assist in data collection and implementation of a new ERP system.

Position Summary

The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily fiberglass manufacturing operations, ensuring safe work practices, maintaining/creating production schedules (with the PCC), meeting quality standards, budgeting departmental workloads, and leading production employees. This position drives productivity, efficiency, accountability, and continuous improvement while maintaining a safe and organized work environment.

Essential Responsibilities

Daily Responsibilities

Production Management

Create and review production schedules and prioritize work orders.

Budget and assign labor based on production needs, departmental capacity and employee skill levels in collaboration with Team Leads.

Monitor workflow, bottlenecks, and production output throughout the shift. Makes real time adjustments with Team Leads to maintain schedules. Troubleshoot issues that arise.

Ensure products are manufactured according to specifications and quality requirements.

Coordinate with shipping, maintenance, and office personnel as needed.

Coordinate with Project Manager/Office/Leadership to ensure customer and project priorities are being monitored and followed.

Employee Supervision & Development

This position will supervise the Team Leads and work with them to oversee production employees.

Conduct start-of-shift meetings.

Monitor attendance and staffing levels, departmental capacity and capacity utilization.

Provide coaching, direction, and problem resolution. Partner with other leadership to achieve goals.

Facilitate employee training, cross-training, and skill development initiatives.

Promote teamwork, accountability, and employee engagement

Monitor employee performance and adherence to work instructions.

Safety

Enforce PPE requirements and safety procedures.

Conduct daily safety observations.

Correct unsafe behaviors immediately.

Investigate and document incidents.

Quality

Work with Quality Team to verify quality inspections are completed

Review scrap, rework, and customer complaints.

Ensure compliance with product specifications.

Facility Operations

Maintain housekeeping standards.

Monitor raw material usage.

Provide production forecast for future raw material ordering

Communicate equipment issues to maintenance.

Weekly Responsibilities

Review production performance versus schedule.

Hold team meetings and communicate company updates.

Conduct safety inspections and corrective action reviews.

Audit quality records and process documentation.

Review labor efficiency and overtime usage.

Update employee training records.

Assist with inventory and material planning.

Meet with President/Project Manager to discuss production performance and improvement opportunities.

Monthly Responsibilities

Analyze production KPIs and trends.

Complete employee performance coaching and documentation.

Conduct formal safety meetings and training.

Review scrap and quality metrics.

Evaluate staffing needs and hiring requirements.

Participate in continuous improvement projects.

Review preventive maintenance completion rates.

Assist with annual budgeting and cost reduction initiatives.

Review employee attendance and corrective actions if necessary.

Qualifications

Education

High School Diploma or GED required.

Manufacturing, Operations Management, Business, or related field experience preferred.

Experience

3-5 years of manufacturing experience required, with 1-2 years of prior supervisory experience.

Must have experience working with an ERP system and ability to assist in data collection and implementation of a new ERP system.

Ability and willingness to learn all aspects of fiberglass production.

Experience with fiberglass, composites, plastics, or similar manufacturing processes preferred.

Skills

Physical Requirements

Frequently walk the production floor

Stand for extended periods.

Occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.

Work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to fiberglass dust, resins, noise, and varying temperatures.

Must be able to wear required PPE, including safety glasses, respirator, hearing protection, gloves, and protective clothing.
