Senior Software Engineer

Omega-KR, Inc. is a small but highly skilled group of engineers committed to developing the next generation of defense applications. We are looking for a team-oriented and motivated individual that loves software engineering and wants to solve defense industry problems. You will be an integral part of the team, creating solutions with new technologies to fill our customer’s capability gaps.

This is a Hybrid position, mostly remote with periodic local support in San Diego. An ideal candidate would be located or be willing to relocate to Southern California.

Responsibilities

Design and develop high-quality, scalable solutions to customer problems in a collaborative agile environment.

Perform architectural analysis, design, and decisions. Select key technologies and ensure integration into container-based analytical processing frameworks.

Document designs and solutions through mock-ups, flowcharts, diagrams, etc.

Participate in design and code reviews with peers and stakeholders to evaluate interfaces between hardware and software, and operational and performance requirements of the overall system.

Qualifications

U.S. citizenship

Ability to obtain a DoD security clearance; active clearance is a plus

Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical/Computer/Software Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, Information Systems or Computer Information Systems, or a related discipline

7+ Years in enterprise application development with Java, Python, and/or Javascript

Solid understanding of Object-Oriented or Functional design/development

Strong knowledge of developing webservices, microservices, and RESTful APIs

Strong knowledge of SQL and NoSQL database technologies

Experience with agile frameworks and methodologies, CI/CD, SecDevOps, and Git

Understanding of virtualization and containerization technologies

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Spring Boot, Quarkus, or similar Java Microservice frameworks

Experience with Node.JS, React, Vue or equivalent Javascript frameworks

Experience with technologies such as Kubernetes, OpenShift, AWS, Azure

Experience with AI/ML, MLOps

Experience with OpenAPI, API design

Experience with message bus protocols: Kafka, WebSockets, AMQ-P
