Dirt Foreman

Job Description

Responsible for running the day-to-day operations on a construction site. Directs a crew as a working foreman and performs skilled work and related work as required. May operate a variety of heavy construction equipment.

Roles and Responsibilities

Responsible and accountable for the safety of the crew under his/her direction; ensure all company employees and subcontractors are adhering to company safety policies and guidelines

Tracking and recording daily production of the dirt crew and reporting back to the superintendent.

Inputting daily logbooks, time sheets and other job-related paperwork.

Attend and facilitate coordination, production and safety meetings.

Communicate with onsite subcontractors, superintendent, and project manager

Ensure job equipment and tools are maintained in good working order and are safe for use.

Participate in training and other forms of development to strengthen technical, safety and other skills.

Manage, supervise and coordinate onsite work crew

Supervise installation and completion of work on time and budget.

Maintain a clean job site: ensure all tools and equipment are picked up and secure job site each day in order to eliminate potential hazards.

Operate construction equipment as required.

Ensure that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed. Bring problems to the attention of the Superintendent, Safety Director or HR as appropriate

Must be proactive in trouble shooting and maintain the work environment without compromise to any required regulations, quality of products or safe work practices

Responsible for daily time and quantity tracking

Have the ability to effectively follow through on verbal and written instructions

Motivated to independently solve problems and seek opportunities to improve operations

Must be able to communicate with company and inspection staff in a professional way
