Live Chat Representative - Remote

The Live Chat Representative provides friendly and timely online support to students, parents/guardians, prospective families, and staff. The representative responds to questions through live chat, email, and other online communication channels and helps direct families to the appropriate school department.

This is a good entry-level position for someone with strong written communication, organization, customer-service skills, and basic computer knowledge.

Responsibilities:

Respond to incoming live-chat messages from parents, students, and prospective families.

Answer general questions about enrollment, school programs, schedules, forms, events, and services.

Provide accurate information using school procedures and online resources.

Forward complex questions to the appropriate department or staff member.

Document conversations and update information in the school's customer/student-support system.

Respond to email inquiries when needed.

Follow privacy and confidentiality requirements when handling student and family information.

Maintain a professional, welcoming, and respectful tone.

Help families navigate online forms, portals, and school resources.

Escalate urgent or sensitive matters according to school procedures.

Perform basic administrative and data-entry tasks.

Basic Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Comfortable using computers, email, Microsoft Office or Google Workspace.

Ability to type accurately and respond to multiple requests.

Good attention to detail.

Ability to work independently from home.

Customer-service or office experience is helpful but may not be required for an entry-level position.

Experience working with children, families, schools, or nonprofit organizations is a plus.
