The Opportunity

You will serve as a vital field leader driving affordable housing projects while directly shaping the lives of young adults breaking the cycle of poverty. This role gives you the platform to combine your residential trade expertise with faith-based mentorship, building quality homes and strong futures simultaneously. You will leave a lasting footprint on the Columbus community by guiding trainees through hands-on construction work every single day.

How You Will Make an Impact

Lead and supervise a dedicated crew of young adult apprentices across daily residential build sites.

Teach foundational construction skills including framing, electrical, siding, flooring, and trim carpentry.

Provide continuous Christian faith mentoring and life-skills guidance to support trainee personal growth.

Maintain a strictly safe, compliant, and productive jobsite environment for all workers and visitors.

Plan daily work assignments to keep residential construction projects moving forward on schedule.

Track and report apprentices progress, attendance, and administrative records to your Neighborhood Director.

Required Qualifications & Experience

Active commitment to Christian faith and membership in a local Christian fellowship.

Demonstrated ability to articulate your faith and mentor young adults coming from difficult life circumstances.

Minimum of 2 years of hands-on working experience in residential construction or related trades.

Proven patience and strong communication skills suited for teaching entry-level apprentices.

Ability to manage daily site logistics, administrative record-keeping, and trainee supervision concurrently.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience

5 or more years of residential construction experience spanning multiple core trades.

High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

Prior experience managing, teaching, or mentoring youth in a vocational or non-profit setting.
