Structural Welding Inspector

Job Description:\n This full-time, on-site Structural Certified Welding Inspector role is based in Columbus OH and focuses on performing structural welding inspections in accordance with applicable codes, standards, and customer specifications.

The inspector will conduct visual and non-destructive examinations of welded structures, review welding procedures, verify welder qualifications, and document inspection results in clear, accurate reports.

Day-to-day responsibilities include interpreting drawings and welding symbols, monitoring welding processes for compliance, identifying discontinuities and defects, and communicating findings to project managers, engineers, and client representatives.

The role also involves collaborating with NDT technicians, supporting quality assurance initiatives, participating in safety meetings, and maintaining inspection equipment and records.

Occasional overtime and work in industrial environments such as construction sites, fabrication shops, and manufacturing facilities should be expected.\n \n Qualifications\n\n Certification as an AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI)\n UTSW\n Strong technical reading skills, including the ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, procedures, and quality documentation.\n Proficient report writing and documentation skills, with attention to detail and accuracy in recording inspection results and maintaining records.\n Commitment to safety practices and regulatory compliance, including working safely in industrial, construction, and fabrication settings.\n Effective communication and collaboration skills\n\n
