Behavior Consultant

Minimal Requirements:

Experience with ID/DD population preferred but NOT required.

Education:

1. MUST HAVE a Master’s Degree in applicable field of study: Clinical Psychology, Counseling Psychology, School Psychology, Psychology or another applied health service area of Psychology (including but not limited to: special education, social work or counseling)

2. Ability to provide official transcripts and diploma

3. Ability to complete at least 10 continuing education credits per year

HR File:

1. Must be able to complete background checks without any issues or concerns reported

2. Must possess an active driver's license, vehicle registration and insurance

3. Must be able to obtain personal liability insurance

Clientele:

1. Ability to work with individuals with a wide range of abilities

2. Ability to work with veterans and military population

3. Ability to work in groups with colleagues as needed.

4. Ability to take on an intern, as needed.

5. Must be able/willing to transport clients in your vehicle

Job Duties:

1. Ability to work on your own as well as take direction from others

2.Must complete the client Assessment/s and Behavior Support Plan within 45 days of initial client contact

3. Ability to think outside of the box to best advocate for your client's needs and independence

4. Analysis data to form baseline and track trends

5. Ability to attend a once-a-month virtual contractor/company meeting.

6. Provide ongoing training and support to staff/family members of the client on implementation of the plan

7. Attend client meetings as scheduled

8. Must be able to effectively communicate with your client, their team members, and New Wave Wellness colleagues.

9. Must be able to obtain valid CPR/1st Aid Training and obtain a negative TB test.

10. Respond to crisis situations for all persons served

11. Document monthly data reports clearly outlining all goals and outcomes in a timely manner
