Job description:

Position Summary

Drivers are responsible for the safe and efficient operation of Dumpster Today trucks,

ensuring dumpsters are delivered, picked up, transported, and dumped in a professional

manner. Drivers play a critical role as the face of the company, interacting directly with

customers, maintaining safety standards, and ensuring each dumpster is placed and

removed according to company guidelines.

Reports To: Franchise Owner

Supports: Dispatch / Operations Coordinator, Customers

Key Responsibilities

Truck Operation & Safety

Perform daily truck inspections and required maintenance checks before operating.

Safely operate roll-off trucks to load, deliver, and pick up dumpsters from customer sites and landfills.

Fuel trucks at the end of every shift.

Report any mechanical issues immediately to Dispatch and Management.

Dumpster Delivery & Pickup

Provide driveway protection if ordered and ensure dumpsters are placed safely, avoiding damage to property.

Follow all company placement guidelines and local ordinances.

Upload required photos in the Driver App at delivery and pickup (driveway condition, empty dumpster, placement, pickup condition).

Ensure dumpster doors are properly secured during transport.

Customer Service & Communication

Always Represent Dumpster Today in a professional and courteous manner.

Communicate with Dispatch regularly throughout the day for updates, changes, and confirmations.

Report customer concerns, property damage, or unsafe conditions immediately.

Provide basic information to customers regarding dumpster use, fill restrictions, and pickup timelines.

Documentation & Compliance

Accurately upload landfill tickets, receipts, and notes into the Driver App after each dump.

Verify ticket information (weight, cost, material type) before submission.

Follow all safety procedures and company policies, including PPE requirements.

Maintain compliance with DOT regulations and company vehicle standards.

Work Schedule

Work varying shifts, but is scheduled in advance (typically 3–12 hours), including weekends when required.

Be available for same-day dispatch needs or schedule changes as communicated by Dispatch.

Qualifications

Valid driver’s license (CDL not required).

Ability to work long shifts and weekends when needed.

Physically capable of operating roll-off equipment and performing inspections.

Strong communication and customer service skills.

Prior experience in waste hauling, trucking, or logistics preferred but not required.

Work Environment

Primarily field-based role with consistent interaction with customers, Dispatch, and landfills.

Requires frequent climbing in and out of trucks and manual handling of equipment (including dumpster doors and driveway protection).

Exposure to outdoor weather conditions year-round.

Safety-first environment requiring use of PPE (safety vest, gloves, boots, and eye protection).

Compensation

Base Pay: Fixed hourly rate in the range of $20/hour with performance bonus options. This is a W2, hourly position.

Commission/Bonus Opportunities: May be eligible for safety, efficiency, or customer service bonuses.

Vacation:

o 1 week (5 days) during the first year of employment

o 2 weeks (10 days) after completing two years of employment

Paid Holidays: 6-8 per year
