Nursing Manager - Inpatient/ Medical-Surgical

Job Description

The Nursing Manager of Inpatient / Medical-Surgical Services is accountable for the overall leadership, operations, staffing, quality, regulatory compliance, and financial performance of inpatient services. This role has full responsibility for all inpatient and medical-surgical nursing operations and personnel management. Physicians and advanced practice providers do not report to this position.

Essential Functions:

· Provide operational leadership

· Oversee patient care delivery

· Direct staffing, scheduling, hiring, coaching, discipline, and performance management

· Ensure quality, safety, regulatory compliance, budget management, patient experience, and emergency preparedness

· Directly Supervises registered nurses, LPNs, CNAs, patient care technicians, unit secretaries, and other assigned support staff.

· Physicians and advanced practice providers are not direct reports.

Qualifications:

BSN required

Missouri RN License in good standing

BLS certification

5 years acute care nursing experience and 3 years leadership experience required

Master’s degree preferred

Position Accountability Statement:

Fully accountable for the clinical, operational, staffing, quality, patient experience, regulatory, and financial performance of inpatient and medical-surgical services.
