What You'll Do as a CAD Specialist:

- Serves as a Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) Specialist.

- Coordinates, reviews, & administers the CAD databases (e.g., update personnel security level, towing, radio IDs, vehicle, incident, disposition & other related data-bases with CAD) to maintain a dispatching system.

- Coordinates & implements training on approved courses.

- Creates training materials & provides instruction to dispatch personnel & sworn officers on CAD & Mobile Computer Terminals (MCT) related topics & trains new CAD Specialists as requested.

Option 1

12 mos. exp. in operation of computer aided dispatch software AND 6 mos. trg. or 6 mos. exp. in preparing informational or instructional materials/programs AND 6 mos. trg. or 6 mos. exp. in public speaking or effective communication skills.

Option 2

Or 12 mos. exp. as Highway Patrol Dispatcher, 52461 AND 6 mos. trg. or 6 mos. exp. in preparing informational or instructional materials/programs AND 6 mos. trg. or 6 mos. exp. in public speaking or effective communication skills.

AGENCY PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience as a Field Training Dispatcher, 12 mos. exp. in operation of computer aided dispatch software AND 6 mos. trg. or 6 mos. exp. in preparing informational or instructional materials/programs AND 6 mos. trg. or 6 mos. exp. in public speaking or effective communication skills.

-Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above. Note: Applicants will be required to demonstrate proficiency in CAD operations by passing department administered test.
