Emergency Department Nurse

We are seeking a qualified Emergency Department Nurse to join our dynamic team. This role requires a dedicated professional who can provide exceptional care to a diverse patient population, including neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.

Daily responsibilities include:

Providing comprehensive nursing care to patients in the emergency department.

Assessing and interpreting patient conditions, including management of acute complaints such as chest pain and respiratory issues.

Conducting mental health evaluations and managing OB/GYN emergencies.

Administering blood products, central line care, and managing IVs.

Monitoring vital signs and interpreting ABGs for ventilated patients.

Performing triage responsibilities and ensuring adherence to isolation precautions.

Utilizing our medication system, Pyxis, for efficient medication management.

Collaborating with a team of 24/7 board-certified ED providers, charge nurses, and house supervisors.

Unit details include:

A 27-bed emergency department located within a rural hospital.

Available patient rooms include designated resuscitation and mental health-specific spaces.

Focused on achieving Trauma IV designation and operates as a Primary Stroke Center.

Qualifications include:

Must possess a valid Michigan nursing license.

Minimum of 3 years of Emergency Department experience, including combined adult and pediatric care.

Requires certifications: ACLS, BCLS, NIH, PALS, and TNCC.

Experience with a 1:4 patient-nurse ratio in previous positions.

Proficient with Epic EMR system.

Must be able to float within the service line and scope of practice as needed.

Additional information includes:

Every other weekend availability is required.

This position accepts first-time travelers but does not allow local travelers from within 50 miles.
