Mechanical Engineer

is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our growing multidisciplinary architecture and engineering team.

This position offers the opportunity to take ownership of projects, work directly with clients, and contribute to a wide variety of building renovation, infrastructure, and facility improvement projects.\n \n We are looking for an engineer with experience in the design of HVAC, plumbing, and related mechanical building systems.

The ideal candidate will be comfortable working independently while collaborating with architects and civil, structural, electrical, and other engineering disciplines.\n \n Responsibilities\n\n Design HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical building systems for new construction and renovation projects.\n Perform engineering calculations, equipment selection, system evaluation, and technical analysis.\n Prepare and coordinate construction drawings, specifications, reports, and cost estimates.\n Conduct existing-condition assessments and develop recommendations for system replacement and improvement.\n Manage projects from initial assessment and design through construction.\n Coordinate directly with clients, owners, contractors, consultants, and other design disciplines.\n Participate in project meetings, site visits, construction administration, and field observations.\n Review shop drawings, submittals, RFIs, and other construction-phase documentation.\n Provide technical direction, mentoring, and supervision to junior engineering and production staff.\n Assist with project scope, schedule, and budget management.\n Support the continued growth of STAR's mechanical engineering practice.\n\n \n Qualifications\n\n Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.\n Experience designing HVAC and mechanical systems for commercial, institutional, governmental, educational, or similar facilities.\n Experience with building renovations and existing-condition assessments is preferred.\n Proficiency with Revit and/or AutoCAD is preferred.\n Strong written and verbal communication skills.\n Ability to manage multiple projects and coordinate across disciplines.\n Professional Engineer (P.E.) license preferred.

Candidates licensed outside Ohio should be willing and able to obtain Ohio P.E.
