Schedule: 10/9/2026 at 7:00 AM CST through 10/11/2026 at 7:00 AM CST (48-hour call coverage)

Job Setting: Inpatient; 200-bed facility

Types of Cases:

Call coverage only - no clinic; covers inpatient consults and emergency room

General Surgery (Adult required; Pediatric preferred)

Trauma Surgery (Level 3 Trauma Center)

Laparoscopic Surgery: Appendectomy, Cholecystectomy, Hernioplasty, Nissen Fundoplication

Chest wall/pleural procedures; Chest tube insertion

Central line insertion

Vascular Surgery: Vascular access devices required; Aneurysm repairs, Arterial bypass, Peripheral, AV shunt preferred

GI Endoscopy (Upper & Lower, including Sigmoidoscopy and Colonoscopy) - preferred

Liver surgery - preferred

PA Catheter placement - preferred

Laser certification - preferred

Call Type: Beeper (30-minute response time required)

Call Ratio: 1:6 Call Back: 15% Phone Consults: 10/shift Patients Seen: 20/shift

EMR: Cerner

Credentialing: Estimated 30-day credentialing timeframe; temporary privileges available; malpractice insurance provided by vendor Minimum Requirements

Board Certified/Board Eligible: Board Certified or Board Eligible required

Certifications: ACLS required; BLS required
