Job Description

The Data Analyst supports organizational efficiency by coordinating projects, assisting with data analysis and reporting, and recommending technology and process improvements as appropriate. This role ensures the organization's operational and strategic goals are achieved through effective project coordination, accurate data insights, and process optimization.

Minimum Qualifications

Demonstrated alignment with CSB's mission and values

Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Information Systems, Business Administration, Public Administration, Statistics, Project Management, or a related field and/or a minimum of 4 years of progressively responsible experience in data analysis, project coordination, system administration support, or operational improvement in a mission-driven, public sector, or complex multi-stakeholder environment.

Experience managing multiple concurrent projects with defined milestones, timelines, and deliverables.

Demonstrated experience working with structured datasets, performing data validation and quality assurance, and producing reports for leadership or external stakeholders.

Proficiency in advanced Excel functions (pivot tables, lookups, formulas), and experience with at least one data visualization or reporting tool (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, or similar).

Experience translating technical or complex data findings into clear, actionable insights for non-technical audiences.

Working knowledge of data governance principles, documentation standards, and compliance-driven reporting environments.

Experience supporting cross-functional initiatives that require coordination across departments or external partners.

Experience with Homeless Management Information Systems (HMIS), CRM systems, enterprise databases, or comparable case management systems strongly preferred.

Experience working in a system-level non-profit setting preferred.

Experience working as an in-house liaison to a third-party IT company preferred.

Knowledge of IT systems including network security, cybersecurity risk management, and optimizing modern technologies preferred.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Data Analytics and Reporting

Supports the development of reports for federal and local funding applications, including CoC Annual Performance Reports, Emergency Shelter Grant Consolidated Annual Performance and Evaluation Report, HUD System Performance Measures, and the CoC Application.

Conducts routine and ad-hoc data analysis to support internal and external data requests.

Creates HMIS reports that align with agency reporting requirements and distributes them to partner agencies as needed.

Collaborates with external vendors to develop custom reports and analytics.

Acts as a backup for the Senior Data Manager for data analysis and reporting.

Acts as a backup for the HMIS Database Manager working in the Homeless Management Information System (HMIS).

Conducts data quality checks, produces reports, and supports compliance with reporting standards.

Analyze data trends to provide actionable insights for strategic decisions.

Quality Assurance

Performs quarterly DCA QA review.

Routinely monitors DCA programs' performance to ensure conformance with CSB HMIS standards.

Update DCA reports and distribute to staff, as needed.

Provides and analyzes data for Finance department to reconcile MIP data.

Participates in the annual program review and certification of HMIS data.

Prepares data review packets for all departments involved in the review process.

Prepares additional monthly and quarterly data packets for Quality Improvement meetings and Technical Assistance, as needed.

Assists with technical assistance to partner agencies as necessary to improve program outcomes, as requested.

Assists with preparation of monthly and quarterly internal reports as necessary.

Technology and Process Optimization

Support assessments to identify inefficiences in processes and technology.

Assist in evaluating and adopting new technology tools to streamline workflows.

Additional Responsibilities

Provide technical assistance to teams and departments as needed.

Contribute to training staff on data tools and project systems.

Maintain thorough records, documentation, and project files.

Actively participate in internal and external meetings, offering insights and updates.
