ZIMI Logistics Pty Ltd is an established logistics operator based in Eight Mile Plains, Brisbane. We run a commercial vehicle fleet supporting freight and distribution work across South East Queensland.

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Fleet Manager to take responsibility for the management, acquisition and disposal of our vehicle fleet and for the commercial arrangements that support it. This is a hands-on management role reporting to the business owner, with day-to-day accountability for fleet availability, cost and compliance.

Key responsibilities

Organise the purchase, replacement and disposal of fleet vehicles, and manage vehicle acquisition costs against operational requirements

Coordinate vehicle leasing and hire arrangements, including negotiating terms with lessors, dealers and finance providers

Organise the maintenance, servicing, repairs and registration of all fleet vehicles, and arrange preventative maintenance schedules

Manage fuel purchasing and monitor fuel usage and fleet operating costs

Plan and implement vehicle allocation and transport scheduling to meet operational requirements

Coordinate the collection and delivery of vehicles across the fleet

Supervise and direct drivers in relation to fleet operations and vehicle use

Ensure goods are transported in conditions that maintain their quality and condition

Maintain fleet business records and prepare operational statements and cost reports for management

Ensure fleet operations comply with workplace health and safety, heavy vehicle and transport regulatory requirements

Liaise with drivers, mechanics, suppliers, insurers and other operational stakeholders

Education and Experience

A Diploma or higher qualification in logistics, transport, supply chain or business, or at least three years of relevant experience in fleet, transport or logistics management

1-3 year of relevant experience is required.

Demonstrated experience managing vehicle acquisition, maintenance programs or leasing arrangements

Experience coordinating vehicles and supervising drivers

Sound knowledge of vehicle maintenance requirements and fleet operating costs

Working understanding of workplace health and safety and transport compliance obligations

Strong organisational, record-keeping and reporting skills

Ability to manage competing operational priorities and work independently

Salary:

$80,000 – $85,000 per annum plus statutory superannuation

Full-time, ongoing employment

An on-site role at our Eight Mile Plains operations base
