• Position: HGV Class 2 Driver

• Pay: £17.00 per hour

• Hours: 12:00pm - 9:00pm

• Working Pattern: 5 days per week, typically Monday to Friday

• Employment: Full-time

• Location: Blackburn site – working Lancashire area

NW Recruitment Services Ltd are currently recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced HGV Class 2 Driver to join their transport and logistics operation on a full-time basis.

This is a hands-on driving role involving the safe and efficient delivery of goods to customers and locations across the local area and surrounding regions.

Key responsibilities

• Driving a Class 2 HGV safely and responsibly in accordance with all relevant legislation.

• Completing scheduled deliveries efficiently and within required timeframes.

• Loading and unloading goods, ensuring items are handled safely and securely.

• Carrying out vehicle checks before and during shifts and reporting any defects or issues.

• Ensuring loads are secured correctly before leaving site.

• Completing delivery paperwork and relevant documentation accurately.

• Maintaining a professional and courteous approach when dealing with customers and members of the public.

• Following agreed delivery routes and instructions.

• Working closely with the transport and warehouse teams to ensure deliveries are completed smoothly.

• Maintaining a clean and presentable vehicle and reporting any maintenance requirements.

• Complying with drivers' hours, working time, health and safety and company procedures.

• Carrying out reasonable duties as required to support the wider operation.

Requirements

• Full UK Class 2 (Category C) driving licence.

• Valid Driver CPC.

• Valid Digital Tachograph Card.

• Previous experience working as an HGV Class 2 Driver.

• Good knowledge of UK roads and the ability to plan journeys effectively.

• Experience with multi-drop or customer deliveries would be advantageous.

• A good understanding of vehicle safety checks and load security.

• Good communication and customer service skills.

• Reliable, punctual and professional approach to work.

• Physically capable of carrying out loading and unloading duties.

• No serious driving convictions or disqualifications.

Working hours: 12:00pm - 9:00pm, 5 days per week.

• Days are typically Monday to Friday, although some flexibility may be required depending on operational requirements.
