Laboratory Associate (0019-0053)

Execute the full Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) workflow, including automated DNA extraction, library preparation, quality control (QC), and sequencing on Illumina platforms. Contribute to large-scale genetic projects, utilizing process automation, quality control, and data analysis to support the company’s genomic division. Perform complex cell isolation from biofluids and conduct flow cytometry analysis. Operate, calibrate, and perform preventive maintenance on advanced laboratory equipment, including Chemagic 360, Agilent Bravo, Illumina MiniSeq, and Agilent TapeStation. Analyze and interpret NGS data using specialized software (R, Python, Illumina BaseSpace) and standard tools (Microsoft Office) for reporting. Author and present detailed technical reports and presentations to communicate findings to senior management and stakeholders.

Education and Experience Requirements

Job Requirements:

Requires a Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in biotechnology, molecular biology, immunology or a directly related field plus two (2) years of experience in genomics, biotechnology, or biology in medical research. Experience must include:

Two (2) years of experience in the following (experience may be gained concurrently):

DNA Extraction and Library prep for single cell sequencing

Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS)

Cell isolation from blood, bone marrow or solid organs

QC analysis and flow cytometry

Cryopreservation methods for cell lines

Data analysis and analytical decision making on established and novel protocols in genomics and cell isolations

Large data platforms like Illumina BaseSpace or similar platforms

Scientific writing, reports, abstracts or publications

Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word)
