Location: Columbus, MS

Job Type: Full-Time Contract

Contract Length: 6 Months

Pay Rate: $45–$65/hr

Johnson Service Group is seeking an experienced Project Manager for a 6-month contract opportunity in Columbus, MS. This position will lead aircraft maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) programs and coordinate projects across operations, engineering, and customer-facing teams.

Job Summary

The Project Manager will be responsible for the end-to-end execution of aircraft maintenance and repair projects, ensuring programs are delivered on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with technical and customer requirements.

This is an excellent opportunity for a project management professional with experience in aerospace, aviation, aircraft maintenance, MRO, engineering, or manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage aircraft maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) projects from initiation through completion.

Coordinate project activities across operations, engineering, maintenance, and customer teams.

Develop and maintain project schedules, milestones, deliverables, and priorities.

Monitor project performance, costs, schedules, risks, and resource requirements.

Ensure aircraft repair campaigns and customer contracts remain on track and meet established requirements.

Communicate project status, risks, issues, and progress to internal and external stakeholders.

Work closely with cross-functional teams to resolve technical, operational, and scheduling challenges.

Support customer requirements while maintaining project quality, cost, and schedule objectives.

Identify potential project risks and develop appropriate mitigation strategies.

Ensure projects are executed in accordance with applicable technical, quality, safety, and contractual requirements.

Qualifications

Previous experience in Project Management, preferably within aerospace, aviation, aircraft maintenance, MRO, or manufacturing.

Experience managing complex, cross-functional projects.

Strong understanding of project schedules, budgets, deliverables, and resource management.

Experience working with engineering, operations, maintenance, or technical teams.

Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Experience

Aerospace or aviation industry experience

Aircraft maintenance or MRO experience

Helicopter or vertical-flight experience

Experience managing aircraft repair or maintenance programs

Experience working with engineering and manufacturing organizations

Customer-facing project management experience
