Assistant Controller

We are looking for an Assistant Controller to work for our client.

The ideal candidate aligns with the responsibilities and qualifications outlined below.\n \n This is a great opportunity for an experienced accounting professional to take on a key leadership role supporting the Controller and strengthening the organization's accounting operations, in a hybrid role based in Columbus, OH.\n \n Responsibilities\n\n Support the Controller in overseeing day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger and month-end/year-end close\n Assist in the preparation and review of financial statements in accordance with GAAP\n Help manage the annual audit process, including preparation of supporting schedules and documentation\n Support the development and maintenance of internal controls across the accounting function\n Review account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner\n Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes\n Supervise and mentor accounting staff, providing guidance and reviewing their work\n Identify and help implement process improvements within the accounting function\n Step in for the Controller on key deliverables and decisions as needed\n\n \n Qualifications\n\n Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA preferred\n 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including some supervisory experience\n Strong knowledge of GAAP and month-end/year-end close processes\n Experience supporting or participating in external audits\n Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills\n Ability to manage multiple priorities in a hybrid work environment\n\n \n What Our Client Offers\n\n A clear runway toward the Controller seat for the right person\n Real involvement in audit strategy and internal controls design, not just execution\n Opportunity to lead and develop accounting staff\n A finance leadership team that invests in growing its bench strength\n\n
