In this position, the team member provides daily support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, assisting with personal care, life skills, and community activities.

Responsibilities include helping with transportation, following individualized support plans, documenting services, and promoting safety and well-being.

The role involves building trusting relationships, encouraging independence, and supporting individuals in achieving personal goals.

Direct Support Professionals also collaborate with supervisors and team members, participate in ongoing training, and follow all agency and regulatory guidelines.\n Qualifications\n \n\n Human Services knowledge and experience supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.\n Strong interpersonal skills and effective communication abilities with individuals, families, and colleagues.\n Understanding of intellectual disabilities and commitment to person-centered, respectful support.\n Willingness to participate in ongoing training and apply best practices in direct support.\n High school diploma or equivalent; relevant coursework or certification in human services is beneficial.\n Ability to assist with personal care, handle physical demands of the role, and maintain a safe environment.\n Dependable, organized, and able to follow support plans and documentation requirements.\n Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation, if required for community outings or appointments.\n Ability to pass background checks and meet all state and agency compliance standards.\n
