Job Summary The Deputy Manager – Engineering and Maintenance is responsible for managing and ensuring the efficient operation, maintenance, and reliability of all plant and off-site facilities, equipment, and utilities. This role ensures optimal performance at the lowest sustainable cost while maintaining full compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards. Key Responsibilities 1. Engineering & Maintenance Operations
Lead and support the Engineering and Maintenance Group to achieve operational efficiency and reliability
Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs for plant facilities, machinery, and utilities
Monitor plant condition through inspections, reports, and site tours 2. Equipment Reliability & Performance
Ensure maximum availability and performance of plant equipment
Analyze downtime reports and implement corrective actions
Optimize energy utilization and maintenance costs 3. Project & Capital Management
Oversee engineering projects, plant upgrades, renovations, and capital expenditures
Plan and manage major shutdowns and maintenance schedules 4. Safety, Health & Compliance
Champion a strong safety culture across all operations
Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, and regulatory requirements 5. Leadership & Team Management
Lead, mentor, and develop engineering and maintenance teams
Collaborate with department heads and senior management to resolve plant issues
Drive continuous improvement and innovation initiatives 6. Budget & Performance Management
Prepare and manage maintenance budgets
Review KPIs and implement performance improvements Job Qualifications Education & Certification
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or related field)
Licensed Engineer is strongly preferred Experience
At least 10–15 years of relevant experience in engineering and maintenance operations
Minimum of 5 years in a senior leadership role
Strong background in plant, manufacturing, or heavy industrial operations Technical Competencies
