Construction Estimator

The company delivers a range of commercial and multi-residential building projects, emphasizing careful planning, accurate budgeting, and timely completion.\n Role Description The Construction Estimator is a full-time, hybrid role based in Columbus, OH, responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for construction projects from conceptual stage through final bid.

Day-to-day tasks include reviewing plans and specifications, performing detailed quantity take-offs, and developing labor, material, and equipment cost breakdowns.

The role involves coordinating with project managers, subcontractors, and suppliers to gather pricing, validate assumptions, and refine budgets.

The estimator will analyze bids, track cost trends, prepare bid proposals, and support negotiations with vendors and clients.

They may have to reach out to Architects or Engineers for clarifications via RFI's.

This position also contributes to value engineering, cost risk assessments, and continuous improvement of estimating processes and tools.\n Qualifications\n\n Strong Construction Estimating skills, including experience preparing detailed estimates for commercial projects.\n Proficiency in Quantity Take-offs using drawings and specifications, with attention to detail and accuracy.\n Demonstrated Cost Management and Budgeting abilities, including tracking project costs and supporting financial decision-making.\n Effective Communication skills for collaborating with internal teams, vendors, and clients, both verbally and in writing.\n Knowledge of construction methods, materials, building codes, and industry best practices.\n Relevant education such as an associate or bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.\n Ability to work on-site in Columbus, OH, manage deadlines, and handle multiple estimates concurrently with minimal supervision.\n\n Austin Davis Construction offers a competitive salary based on experience, health insurance, 401K, and is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
