Position Overview

JGM is hiring an experienced Industrial Forklift Operator to join our team at our heavy industrial steel fabrication facility in Coatesville, PA.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys operating equipment, working hands-on, and being part of a fast-moving industrial operation. You’ll work in our outdoor steel yard moving structural steel and other heavy materials that keep production running.

This is not a typical warehouse forklift position. We’re looking for someone with experience operating forklifts in a heavy industrial, manufacturing, steel, construction, lumber, pipe, precast, or similar yard environment who is comfortable handling large and oversized loads.

Location: Coatesville, PA

Schedule

Monday–Friday, 5:00 AM–3:30 PM

Every other two-week period: 5:00 AM–5:30 PM through December

Optional Saturday shifts available every week

What You’ll Do

Operate heavy-capacity forklifts and material-handling equipment throughout our outdoor steel yard

Move, stage, load, and unload structural steel and other large or oversized materials

Safely position and stack loads in active production and staging areas

Keep material moving between storage, fabrication, staging, and shipping areas

Load outgoing trucks and unload incoming deliveries

Organize, tag, and track materials throughout the yard

Perform daily equipment inspections and report maintenance concerns

Work closely with production, shipping, and yard teams to keep operations moving efficiently

Maintain awareness of surrounding equipment, personnel, load conditions, and potential hazards

What We’re Looking For

2+ years of forklift experience required

Previous experience working in a heavy industrial, manufacturing, steel, construction, or similar yard environment

Experience operating larger-capacity forklifts, ideally 10,000+ lb capacity

Experience moving oversized, long, heavy, or awkward loads strongly preferred

Structural steel, pipe, lumber, precast, heavy equipment, or similar material-handling experience is a plus

Comfortable working outdoors year-round in an active industrial environment

Strong safety awareness and attention to surroundings

Reliable, self-motivated, and comfortable working as part of a team

Willing to complete OSHA 10 training upon hire; current OSHA 10 certification is a plus

High school diploma or GED preferred

The Work Environment

This position is based in our outdoor fabrication yard at a heavy industrial structural steel facility. You’ll work around cranes, forklifts, trucks, structural steel, and active fabrication operations while helping keep materials moving safely and efficiently.

JGM provides required PPE and places a strong emphasis on safety, teamwork, and giving employees the training and tools they need to succeed.

Safety-Sensitive Position

This is a safety-sensitive role. Candidates must successfully complete a pre-employment drug screening, including testing for marijuana, in accordance with JGM’s safety policies and applicable regulations.
