Job Description

Nature of Work

Performs work installing, maintaining, and repairing machinery, equipment, and plant systems.

Essential Job Functions

Inspects and tests machinery and equipment; works with staff to detect and diagnose problems; dismantles, cleans, and completes repairs on machinery/equipment as needed; and, works with vendors to troubleshoot issues as needed.

Lays out, assembles, installs and maintains pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment; repairs and replaces gauges, valves, pressure regulars and related equipment.

Installs and repairs electrical apparatus, such as transformers and wiring, electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment.

Installs, programs and/or repairs automated machinery and equipment.

Performs work safely and follows lock out/tag out procedures and other safety guidelines at all times.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Preparation Needed

Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a high school diploma, trade or technical school certification; some related experience.

Strong mechanical and electrical skills; and, knowledge of plumbing, pump repair, welding and carpentry (dependent on area assigned).

Good verbal and written communication skills; and, the ability to read and interpret documentation such as safety rules, work process instructions, memos, etc.

Ability to follow instruction, accept corrections, contribute ideas, and work well as part of a team.

May be required to work overtime as needed to meet department goals.Benefits
