Variable weekend coverage based on unit requirements.\n Highlights:\n \n Specialty focus on newly diagnosed acute leukemia patients in a 24-bed acute hematology unit\n High-acuity medical unit with extensive blood product administration, IV antibiotics, and electrolyte management\n Goal staffing ratio of 1:4, with occasional 1:5 assignments\n Epic electronic medical record system with GE telemetry monitoring\n 72-hour comprehensive orientation program\n Strong interdisciplinary support including pharmacy, respiratory services, physical therapy, rapid response teams, and interpretation services\n May float to other Medical-Surgical Oncology units as needed\n \n Requirements:\n \n Minimum 2 years of acute care nursing experience, with at least 1 year of PCU/stepdown experience (experience must be current and consistent within the last 12 months)\n Active RN license (Compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission)\n Current BLS and ACLS certifications required\n NIHSS, ONS Chemotherapy Certification preferred but not required\n Proficiency in telemetry interpretation and dysrhythmia management\n Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, and central line care\n Competency in PICC line management, peripheral line care, feeding tube management, and starting IVs\n Epic charting system experience required\n Nursing education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program\n Previous travel nursing experience required\n Flu vaccination required (medical exemptions only); COVID-19 vaccination not required\n 2 professional references required, including at least 1 from a manager or formal leadership role\n \n Why It's a Great Opportunity:\n This position offers the chance to make a meaningful impact caring for newly diagnosed acute leukemia patients during a critical time in their healthcare journey.
