The Make Ready Technician is responsible for preparing vacant apartments for move-in, completing general repairs, assisting with preventative maintenance, and helping maintain the overall appearance and condition of the community. As a Make Ready Technician, you will:
Prepare vacant apartment homes for new residents and ensure units are move-in ready.
Complete general repairs and preventative maintenance throughout the property.
Perform painting, drywall repairs, touch-ups, and other finishing work.
Complete basic plumbing repairs, including toilets, sinks, drains, and fixtures.
Perform minor electrical repairs, including outlets, switches, fixtures, and other components within the scope of the position.
Repair doors, locks, cabinets, hardware, and other apartment components.
Assist with appliance troubleshooting and repairs.
Assist with flooring repairs and replacement as needed.
Remove trash, debris, and abandoned items from vacant apartments.
Assist with maintaining clean and attractive common areas and grounds.
Identify maintenance concerns and report repairs requiring specialized technical assistance.
Maintain tools, equipment, supplies, and maintenance inventory.
Follow company safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area.
Assist the maintenance team with service requests and other property needs as directed.
Perform additional maintenance and make-ready duties as assigned.Qualifications
Previous apartment maintenance, make-ready, or related maintenance experience preferred.
General knowledge of plumbing, electrical, painting, drywall, carpentry, appliance repair, and preventative maintenance.
HVAC or EPA certification is a plus.
Ability to complete assigned work efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
Strong work ethic and dependable attendance.
Ability to work independently and as part of a maintenance team.
Customer-service mindset and professional attitude when interacting with residents and coworkers.Physical Requirements
Ability to lift and move heavy objects and equipment.
Ability to bend, stoop, squat, kneel, climb stairs and ladders, and work in confined areas.
Ability to reach overhead and perform repetitive maintenance tasks.
Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
