Global Commodity Manager
The Global Commodity Manager leads global material sourcing and supplier management, develops commodity strategies that reduce supply chain complexity and meet cost-saving targets, and plays a key role in project management. This role requires proven global sourcing experience and comfort traveling internationally, including to Asia and India, to manage the supplier base for assigned commodities, identify best-in-class domestic and international suppliers for critical components, and partner cross-functionally to improve supplier performance and total cost of ownership.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute global commodity strategies aligned to business goals
Manage an annual spend portfolio of $30M+ within assigned categories
Build sourcing roadmaps, should-cost models, and TCO analyses
Lead RFQ/RFP processes and negotiate global contracts and pricing
Deliver annual cost reduction and productivity targets
Manage strategic supplier relationships, scorecards, and quarterly business reviews
Monitor supply risk and develop mitigation and dual-sourcing strategies
Partner with Engineering, Operations, Quality, and Finance on NPD and sourcing initiatives
Lead VA/VE and continuous improvement projects
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or related field
10+ years in strategic sourcing, procurement, or commodity management, including 5+ years managing global suppliers
Required experience in global sourcing of castings, forgings, and processed products
Proven success negotiating contracts and delivering cost savings
Proficiency with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, JDE, or similar)
CPSM, CPM, CSCP, or equivalent certification preferred
