Hiring: VDI / Windows Desktop Engineer Location: Columbus, OH Onsite, 5 Days/Week
Key Responsibilities
Engineer, configure, and support enterprise VDI environments using Omnissa Horizon
Support migration of workloads from existing VDI platforms to Horizon
Build and maintain Windows 10/11 virtual desktop images
Configure Horizon components including Connection Servers, Horizon Agents, and Desktop Pools
Optimize desktop images, profiles, policies, and application configurations
Troubleshoot complex VDI issues involving Windows, applications, profiles, authentication, and infrastructure
Support Active Directory and Group Policy within the VDI environment
Work with infrastructure, network, security, and application teams to resolve technical issues
Support application packaging and deployment within virtual desktop environments
Develop automation and operational scripts using PowerShell
Monitor and optimize VDI performance, capacity, stability, and end-user experience
Create technical documentation, procedures, and implementation plans
Required Skills
Strong hands-on experience with Windows 10/11 Desktop Engineering
Enterprise VDI engineering and administration experience
Experience with Omnissa/VMware Horizon, Citrix, Azure Virtual Desktop, or similar VDI platforms
Strong knowledge of Active Directory and Group Policy
Experience creating, configuring, and optimizing Windows desktop images
Strong troubleshooting skills across desktop, application, profile, and authentication layers
Strong PowerShell scripting and automation experience
Understanding of VDI-related networking concepts including DNS, load balancing, firewalls, and remote access
