Responsibilities

Provide technical leadership for large, cross-cutting initiatives across Schwab Bank Move Money platforms.

Own solution design and architectural decisions for complex, multi-system workflows.

Partner with stakeholders to translate roadmap initiatives into pragmatic technical approaches.

Lead engineering execution, guide technical direction, and unblock delivery challenges.

Champion thoughtful use of AI assisted development practices and drive engineering excellence.

Support and evolve production systems, participating in complex issue triage and root cause analysis.

Requirements

Required Skills

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

7+ years of experience designing, developing, and delivering large-scale distributed software systems.

Deep hands-on expertise in Java, Spring, and Spring Boot.

Experience with cloud native architectures, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment automation.

Strong experience in automated testing strategies and working with data stores.

Experience with event-driven and messaging-based architectures using technologies like Kafka.

Implementing authentication and authorization mechanisms using industry standards.

Preferred Skills

Experience with move money platforms in regulated financial services environments.

Exposure to common payment networks such as NACHA, FEDWIRE, SWIFT, RTP, or FEDNOW.

Prior involvement in platform modernization or first-of-kind initiatives within banking or payment providers.

Experience applying AI assisted development techniques beyond basic code generation.
