Surgical Services - Sterile Processing Tech (SPT)

We are looking for skilled candidates experienced in various aspects of sterile processing to join our team. The role involves ensuring high standards of disinfection and sterilization practices across multiple service lines.

Key Responsibilities

Perform decontamination of all items, including drills, scopes, and surgical instruments.

Assemble and package instruments for all service lines, including trauma and loaners.

Conduct sterilization processes using Sterrad and steam methods.

Handle high-level disinfection (HLD) procedures, particularly for endoscopes.

Manage sterile storage, ensuring proper organization and accessibility of sterile items.

Serve as an OR liaison, facilitating effective communication between departments.

Utilize the Censitrac tracking system for instrument management and tracking.

Have expertise in endoscope reprocessing using Medivator and Scope Buddy systems.

Qualifications

Certification in sterile processing (CBSPD or CRCST) is required.

Robust knowledge and experience in all areas mentioned above.

Eligibility Restrictions

The following candidate eligibility restrictions apply:

Previous permanent staff and return travelers are not eligible for this position.

Travelers who have reached the maximum one-year contract limit are not eligible for extensions or future assignments.

Candidates residing within a 50-mile radius of the area are not eligible. Current contractors in the radius may complete their existing contract and extend up to the one-year maximum limit.

Parking Permit Options

Agency staff may choose from the following parking permit options:

WMC Monthly Permit: 24/7 access to the Wexner Medical Center Garage.

WB Annual Permit: Access to designated garages on weekends and holidays, with shuttle service available.

CXS Annual Permit: Available for multiple parking locations with weekend and holiday access.

Refund Information

Prorated refunds may be available for unused future months on annual permits. To avoid the next charge, cancellation must be completed by the last business day of the month.

WMC: Closest option with guaranteed garage access; highest cost.

CXS: Cost-effective option with various parking locations.
