Title: Clinic Assistant Division: Support Services FLSA: Exempt General Statement of Job Responsible for providing direct support to school clinics working under supervision of the school nurse and Principal; does related work as required. Specific Duties and Responsibilities Essential Functions:

The following duties are representative for this position. The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the classification if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment for this classification.

Other duties may be required and assigned. Assists the school nurse and Principal with Contact Tracing to provide assistance and support to Isle of Wight County Schools in the fight against COVID-19; reaching out to people (contacts) who have been exposed to COVID-19 and provide health education and guidance as directed by the Virginia Department of Health; Performs a variety of office assistance tasks such as photocopying, filing, answering the telephone, calling parents, etc., as required; Assists with scheduling and organizing required screenings; Provides escort and assistance to children as necessary; Helps maintain student records; Assists in establishing, monitoring and maintaining student behavior; Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience Experience in the medical field preferred but not required Certificates, Licenses, Permits: None Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Knowledge of the Virginia Department of Health and school division's policies and procedures regarding confidentiality.

Skill in the use of technology and with operating standard office equipment; strong organizational and communication skills.

Ability to maintain confidential files and information and to compile reports; deal effectively with students and teachers; operate standard office, word and data processing equipment; establish and maintain working relationships with faculty, parents, students and associates; attention to detail and the ability to prioritize work; follow all designated scripts and comply with policies and procedures provided by the Virginia Department of Health regarding confidentiality and data security for the handling of sensitive student information and protected health information.
