Bright Star Physical Therapy is actively seeking a dedicated Full-Time Physical Therapist (OPT) to join our enthusiastic team at our state-of-the-art Rehabilitation Center located in Chantilly, Virginia. Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement individualized therapy plans that focus on preventing disabilities, alleviating pain, and restoring optimal physical function based on clients’ specific needs.
Conduct thorough assessments, using diagnostic tests to evaluate clients’ muscle, nerve, joint functions, and overall capabilities.
Oversee the work of Physical Therapy Assistants to ensure they are following the prescribed plan of care accurately and effectively.
Make assessments of clients’ home environments to recommend modifications that promote independence and safety.
Administer manual therapeutic exercises, while also instructing clients in non-manual exercises and functional activities to improve overall performance.
Engage in the administration of modalities such as traction, massage, and application of physical agents to facilitate recovery.
Evaluate, fit, and recommend adjustments for prosthetic and orthotic devices, collaborating with physicians to ensure the best outcomes.
Maintain thorough documentation that reflects clients’ progress, including initial evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries for comprehensive clinical records.
Participate actively in interdisciplinary case conferences to contribute to the holistic treatment planning for each client.
Instruct clients and their families on the use and care of physical therapy devices, empowering them to participate actively in their rehabilitation journeys.
Provide mentorship and supervision to Physical Therapy Assistants in executing specific phases of the therapy process.
Patient Population / Client Focus
In this role, you will cater to a diverse patient population, including individuals recovering from surgery, those with chronic pain issues, and elderly clients requiring rehabilitation to regain independence. Your ability to connect with each patient and provide tailored therapeutic interventions will be essential in achieving optimal health outcomes.
Qualifications
A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy is mandatory.
A valid license to practice as a Physical Therapist in the state of Virginia is required.
A minimum of two years of experience in a relevant physical therapy setting, particularly in rehabilitation or home care.
Current CPR certification and a valid driver’s license are required for this position.
Demonstrated passion for patient care, clinical excellence, and a commitment to continuous professional development.
Robust interpersonal skills to foster patient engagement and collaborative team functionality.
Preferred Experience
While a minimum of two years of experience is required, candidates with advanced clinical skills, prior involvement in interdisciplinary treatment teams, and those possessing knowledge of the latest therapy modalities and technologies will be particularly valued. Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems is also beneficial.
Compensation and Benefits
This role offers a competitive annual salary ranging from USD 100,000 to 120,000, alongside a comprehensive benefits package that includes healthcare, dental, vision, and pharmacy coverage.
