Akkodis is seeking a Material Flow Engineer for a 6-month W2 contract (possible extension or conversion) position onsite in Columbus, Ohio.
Pay Range: $50.00 to $60.00 per hour on W2; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
Material Flow Engineer job responsibilities include:
Optimizing warehouse operations and material flow across a global manufacturing and supply chain network to improve quality, reliability, speed, efficiency, and asset utilization.
Identify and resolve production bottlenecks, analyze warehouse and manufacturing processes, conduct time studies, develop data-driven operational improvements, and create tools, metrics, and KPIs to monitor production health.
Collaborate with Supply Chain, Engineering, Quality, and Business Operations teams to support programs from development through full-rate production while improving inventory accuracy, throughput, and resource utilization across multiple sites.
Drive continuous process improvement initiatives using Lean methodologies, including Value Stream Mapping, Process Mapping, and Line Balancing, to optimize warehouse operations and achieve world-class performance.
Lead end-to-end material flow and warehouse optimization projects, including analyzing material flow requirements, designing storage and handling solutions, determining equipment needs, developing line-side and warehouse processes, creating equipment specifications and RFPs, selecting vendors, managing installation activities, and driving implementation through successful completion.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in engineering
3+ years of experience in a high-rate supply chain or manufacturing environment
Prior Material Flow experience required
Ability to read technical documentation such as drawings and CAD data, understanding of a variety of hardware manufacturing processes.
Experience with Siemens NX and TeamCenter is a plus, but candidates should possess solid CAD proficiency.
Ability to manage projects independently
