Patomak is looking for students and recent graduates interested in financial regulation, public policy, and financial markets. Interns work closely with senior professionals on client engagements, research projects, and business development initiatives. Through exposure to a broad range of regulatory, market, and strategic issues, interns will develop a deep understanding of how financial institutions operate, how regulation impacts how financial institutions operate, and how regulatory decisions affect markets and firms. The experience provides a strong foundation for careers in consulting, government, financial services, law, and public policy.

Overview of Job Duties:
Monitor and synthesize developments from financial regulators, industry associations, trade groups, earnings calls, comment letters, and market participants.
Attend and summarize public meetings, hearings, and other proceedings from financial regulators by providing clear, concise reports for internal and external audiences.
Assist with the development and maintenance of regulatory and market intelligence resources, research databases, trackers, and monitoring tools.
Assist with business development efforts, including background research on prospective clients and industries.
Provide project management and operational support, including drafting reports and presentations and editing client deliverables for clarity and accuracy.
Qualifications:
Undergraduate, graduate, or recent graduate with coursework in finance, economics, public policy, or a related field.
Familiarity with U.S. financial regulatory institutions (e.g., SEC, CFTC, Fed) and legislative and regulatory processes and/or financial markets (e.g., banking, capital markets, asset management, insurance, derivatives, payments, fintech, or digital assets).
Preference will be given to applicants with prior internship experience at a federal or state financial regulator, financial services company (e.g., bank or fintech), consulting firm, financial services trade association or public policy firm, or on Capitol Hill.
GPA of at least 3.7 on a 4.0 scale.
Applicants must be able to pass a background check.

Advanced proficiency in writing, researching, and editing, with strong Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel skills.
Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
Exceptional analytical and critical-thinking skills, including the ability to identify key themes and implications from complex regulatory and policy developments.
Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently, meet deadlines, and deliver consistent, high-quality work products.
Intellectual curiosity and the ability to quickly develop expertise on new regulatory, policy, market, and business topics.

Pay Range:
