Position Summary

The Regional IT Infrastructure & Support Specialist is responsible for the reliable operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of IT hardware, software, and end-user services across multiple manufacturing facilities within a global industrial manufacturing group. The role serves as the primary regional IT technical resource, ensuring that local operations align with global IT standards while delivering responsive support to business users, production environments, and leadership teams.

The position combines hands-on technical support, infrastructure management, cybersecurity compliance, vendor coordination, and project delivery to ensure maximum system availability and operational efficiency in line with the Group’s IT control framework.

Key Responsibilities

IT Infrastructure Management

Maintain and support regional IT infrastructure including servers, networking equipment, storage systems, wireless networks, and telecommunications systems.

Monitor system performance, capacity, availability, and security across regional sites.

Perform hardware installation, upgrades, replacements, and lifecycle management.

Support backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions.

Ensure compliance with global IT architecture, security standards, and policies.

End User Support

Provide 1st, 2nd, and where required 3rd-line technical support for hardware, software, and connectivity issues.

Troubleshoot and resolve incidents related to desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers, scanners, and other peripheral equipment.

Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls within corporate systems.

Support Microsoft 365 and other enterprise productivity platforms.

Maintain high levels of customer service and user satisfaction.

Manufacturing Systems Support

Support IT systems used within manufacturing and production environments.

Coordinate with Operations, Engineering, and Production teams to minimize downtime resulting from IT-related issues.

Assist with deployment and support of manufacturing applications, shop-floor systems, data collection systems, and industrial network connectivity.

Participate in planned maintenance activities and site shutdown projects.

Cybersecurity & Compliance

Ensure deployment and maintenance of security controls, endpoint protection, patch management, and vulnerability remediation.

Support cybersecurity audits and compliance initiatives.

Monitor and respond to security incidents in accordance with corporate procedures.

Promote cybersecurity awareness and best practices throughout the region.

Asset & Vendor Management

Maintain accurate inventories of IT hardware, software licenses, and support contracts.

Coordinate regional IT procurement activities in accordance with company guidelines.

Manage relationships with local service providers and equipment vendors.

Ensure timely replacement and disposal of obsolete equipment.

Project Delivery

Participate in regional and global IT projects including infrastructure upgrades, system rollouts, acquisitions, and site integrations.

Coordinate implementation activities across manufacturing sites.

Provide local technical leadership during system deployments and migrations.

Document solutions, procedures, and project outcomes.

Documentation & Reporting

Maintain technical documentation, network diagrams, standard operating procedures, and asset records.

Track and report on service performance metrics and key operational risks.

Provide regular status updates to regional and global IT leadership.

Qualifications

Education

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field preferred.

Equivalent combination of education and professional experience will be considered.

Experience

5+ years of experience supporting enterprise IT infrastructure and end-user environments.

Experience within manufacturing, industrial, or multi-site operations preferred.

Experience supporting Microsoft-based environments and enterprise networking platforms.

Proven experience managing hardware and software deployments across multiple locations.

Technical Skills

Awareness of (or experience with) some of the Group’s Enterprise tooling would be beneficial, tooling includes:

Microsoft 365, Azure Active Directory / Entra ID, and cloud services

Tanium (End Point Management)

Palo Cortex XDR (End Point Protection)

Palo Prisma Access and Global Protect (Managed Firewall / SASE / SD-WAN)

Rubrik (Backup / Backup-as-a-Service / Disaster-Recovery-as-a-Service)

Microsoft Windows server and desktop operating systems.

IOS and Android devices.

Network technologies including LAN, WAN, VPN, VOIP, switching, wireless.

Hardware diagnostics and repair.

IT Service Management (ITSM) tools and processes.

Basic understanding of industrial control systems (ICS), OT environments, and manufacturing technologies is desirable.
