Key Responsibilities

Lead day-to-day accounting activities across General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, and account reconciliations.

Oversee the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process and ensure financial statements are complete and accurate.

Analyze financial results, investigate variances, and identify trends or areas requiring management attention.

Ensure accounting practices and financial reporting remain compliant with GAAP and applicable company policies.

Maintain and strengthen internal accounting procedures, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, and controls.

Interpret and apply SOX requirements, including appropriate internal controls and segregation of duties.

Support annual and quarterly financial audits, tax filings, and other regulatory reporting requirements.

Ensure timely compliance with applicable tax obligations, including payroll, sales and use, and income taxes.

Assist with cash management activities and monitor the company’s overall liquidity and cash flow position.

Work directly with external auditors throughout the year and help coordinate a successful year-end audit and reporting process.

Collaborate with the parent company’s accounting and finance teams to meet financial reporting requirements and support broader corporate accounting initiatives.

Lead, mentor, and develop accounting staff while maintaining a high-performing and accountable team environment.

Qualifications

10+ years of progressive corporate accounting experience

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required

Active CPA certification required

Previous experience managing, mentoring, and developing accounting professionals

Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and accounting principles

Experience with internal controls and SOX compliance

Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills

Ability to work effectively with auditors, tax professionals, and cross-functional finance teams

MBA preferred

Experience within the construction industry preferred

Experience working within a large, publicly traded organization is a plus
