Quality Engineer

We are seeking a Quality Engineer to join our manufacturing quality team. The Quality Engineer will work with the Quality Manager to provide technical process support for production and engineering teams. This role is critical in driving effective quality systems, resolving customer issues, and ensuring compliance with industry standards.

Responsibilities:

Support plants with statistical methods (SPC, DOE, capability studies) and execution of improvement projectsSupport Quality Management System (QMS) activities, such as performing process audits, updating SOPs, revising FMEAs and Control PlansAssist plant with yield improvement projects and various training requirementsFacilitate or participate in improvement teams directed at resolving repetitive or complex problems.

Support plant improvement efforts, as needed (improve QMS, documentation, problem-solving capabilities)Utilizing a process approach, evaluate existing practices and conduct gap analyses against international quality system standards and existing procedures; develop and propose modifications to close the gapsFacilitate statistical process method training for plant personnel; become an SME of the plant SPC systemValidate process and product changes to ensure desired results are achieved and sustainableAssess measurement systems to ensure process robustness and develop improvement plans where neededDisposition non-conforming product and achieve plant PPM targets Requirements: Bachelor's degree required, preferably in a science or engineering discipline; other degrees are acceptable with 3-5 years of QA, engineering, or relevant manufacturing experienceASQ CQE or CMQ/OE certification or willingness to achieve certification within two yearsExperience in ISO certified or regulated workplace is a plusSteel container manufacturing or stamping experience a plusStrong computer skills (Excel, Minitab, ERP systems, Power BI, etc.)Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to train othersKnowledge of statistical and qualitative analysisExpertise in process improvement principles and a structured approach to problem solvingAction-oriented with a strong ability and desire to enact effective changeCompetencies: Ability to work independentlyInfluence without authorityStrong interpersonal skillsAttention to detail – right-first-time approachResults-orientedInnovativePersistentHonestDo you want to work with people who are dedicated to innovation and making the world a better place?
