About the Role:
This is an assistant position for someone who takes pride in maintaining a beautiful, safe, comfortable, and fully functioning property. The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for assisting in the day-to-day maintenance of guest rooms, public areas, restaurant spaces, grounds, equipment, and building systems while supporting preventative maintenance and responding quickly to maintenance needs.
The ideal candidate is a practical problem-solver who can work independently, prioritize competing needs, communicate effectively with hotel leadership and staff, and take ownership of the property's physical condition.
Key Responsibilities
General Maintenance
· Perform routine maintenance and repairs throughout the hotel, restaurant, and property.
· Respond promptly to maintenance requests from guests and hotel staff.
· Troubleshoot and repair plumbing, electrical, HVAC, lighting, doors, locks, fixtures, appliances, and other building components within the scope of expertise.
· Maintain the appearance and functionality of the property to boutique-hotel standards.
· Assist with repairs and maintenance related to restaurant equipment and facilities as appropriate.
Preventative Maintenance
· Maintain a regular preventative maintenance schedule for guest rooms, equipment, building systems, and property infrastructure.
· Conduct routine inspections to identify problems before they affect guests or operations.
· Maintain accurate records of completed maintenance and preventative maintenance activities.
Hotel Operations Support
·Assist Maintenance Manager with issues related to housekeeping, front desk, restaurant management, and other departments.
· Prioritize maintenance requests based on guest impact, safety, operational needs, and urgency.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in maintenance, facilities management, or related field preferred.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in maintenance, preferably within hospitality or food service environments.
Strong knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general building maintenance systems.
Familiarity with safety regulations and compliance standards applicable to motel and restaurant operations.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certification in facilities management or maintenance (e.g., CFM, HVAC certification).
Previous experience working in a combined motel and restaurant environment.
Responsibilities:
Assist in preventive maintenance programs for all motel and restaurant equipment and facilities.
Assist with repairs, renovations, and emergency maintenance to minimize operational disruptions.
Skills:
The Maintenance Technician utilizes technical skills daily to assist and help resolve complex maintenance issues across electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and structural systems, ensuring uninterrupted operations. Leadership and communication skills are essential for effectively assisting the maintenance team and work with other departments. Problem-solving skills are critical for responding promptly to emergencies and implementing preventive measures to reduce future issues.
