Senior Estimator/Engineer/Draftsman

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic team at Bear Ridge.

We are a job shop that specializes in heavy fabrication of one-off components and production parts for a wide range of industries.

The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in mechanical engineering principles and be proficient in AutoCAD and Solidworks, as well as machining and fabricating procedures and principles.

This role involves reading, interpreting, modifying and laying out drawings, and also estimating and planning jobs.

Work experience building components from steel plate, beams, pipe, tube, angle, flat bar and channel with various connections and welding/machining procedures is required.\n A large portion of the drafting and estimating work revolves around material handling systems, involving the layout and design of components including, but not limited to the following: hoppers, bins, silos, cones, cyclones, drums, tanks, conveyors (truss frame and channel), saddles, shafts, vibrators, shakers, drive components, structural supports, platforms, walkway, handrail, etc.\n Responsibilities and Duties\n - Utilize software programs related to shop machinery such as the plasma table, fiberoptic laser, CNC mills, press brakes in order to produce parts and components correctly and efficiently.\n - Produce 2D and 3D fabrication drawings from customer supplied drawing that provide adequate detail for shop fabricators and machinists.\n -Measure and reverse engineer mechanical and fabricated components in order to produce accurate drawings.\n -Apply metallurgical concepts to a wide range applications in order to satisfy customer needs\n -Familiar with machining and fabrication practices including welding, bending, rolling, cutting, coping, shearing, milling and more.\n - Maintain documentation of designs, tests, and records in accordance with shop standards.\n -Estimate time and materials needed in order to produce quotes for customers.\n -Work alongside the engineering team and shop floor to ensure quality standards are met.\n -Willingness to get dirty, learn and help in areas where needed.\n\n Job Type: Full-time\n\n
