Security Officer – Columbus, OH

Weekly Pay Full Time Open Availability Required

Pay: $18/hr – $19/hr

Schedule: Full-Time Open Availability

Location: Columbus, OH

Work Location: In person

RESPONSIBILITIES

Foot & vehicle patrols

Access control & perimeter monitoring

Incident response and verbal de-escalation

Enforce site policies and post orders

Professional report writing

Maintain duty equipment

REQUIREMENTS

Valid driver’s license

Open availability required

Must be able to pass a background check & drug screening (including THC)

Reliable transportation

Strong communication skills

Basic tech skills (radios, reporting apps, GPS, phones)

Ability to work independently or as part of a team

PREFERRED

Ohio Guard Card (PISGS)

Prior security or law enforcement experience

Bilingual skills

Less-lethal certifications (Taser, OC, baton)

Key Responsibilities

Provide visible, professional physical security and asset protection for select client sites.

Write precise reports, document incidents and perform situational assessments.

Maintain sharp situational awareness and act as a professional representative of public safety standards.

Execute specialized security details, access control or event coverage based on assignment.

Coordinate effectively with local law enforcement and site management when necessary.

Qualifications & Requirements

High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

Prior experience in security, military or law enforcement is preferred (OPOTA certification is a strong plus).

Strong verbal communication, conflict de-escalation and writing skills.

Clean criminal background check and drug screening.

Professional appearance, strong work ethic and reliable transportation.

Full-time availability, including readiness for consistent shift schedules.
