Ryder System is hiring a Diesel Mechanic to keep our transportation fleet safe, reliable, and road-ready. In this on-site role, you will diagnose, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on diesel trucks, trailers, and related equipment for a leading logistics provider. Responsibilities include troubleshooting engines, brakes, electrical, and hydraulic systems; completing scheduled services; and documenting all work in compliance with Ryder and DOT standards. You'll work within a safety-first, team-based shop, use modern diagnostic tools, and gain access to continuous technical training and advancement opportunities across Ryder's North American operations.
Responsibilities
Diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel trucks, trailers, and related equipment
Perform preventive maintenance inspections and scheduled services
Troubleshoot engine, transmission, brake, electrical, and hydraulic systems
Use diagnostic tools, technical manuals, and OEM software to identify issues
Document work performed, parts used, and repair recommendations accurately
Follow Ryder and DOT safety standards, policies, and procedures
Communicate findings and repair status with supervisors and drivers
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop environment
Support breakdown and road-call repairs as needed
Participate in ongoing technical training and ASE certification programs
