Ultimately, our work will help power national ambitions and enable a high-energy society.About This RoleThe Document Control and Records Manager is responsible for administering General Matter's document management and records management programs to ensure compliance with NRC document and recordkeeping requirements under 10 CFR Part 70.
This role serves as the organization's records custodian, accountable for the accuracy, integrity, and retention of controlled documents and records across the company.ResponsibilitiesServe as the organization's records custodian, with accountability for the integrity, completeness, and retention of the official record in accordance with NRC recordkeeping requirementsManage version control, metadata, and classification across the document management system, and maintain an auditable register of controlled documents and their revision historyEnsure documents are prepared, reviewed, and approved in accordance with established signoff and signature procedures, and that only current, approved versions are in useAdminister day-to-day document control and records management processes, identifying gaps and driving improvements to existing proceduresPartner with Quality, Operations, and Engineering to ensure documents originating from those functions meet records requirements before they are finalizedSupport internal and external audits and NRC inspections by producing accurate, well-organized records on requestEvaluate and apply automation and software tools to streamline document routing, review, and retentionMaintain retention schedules and ensure proper disposition of records in accordance with regulatory and internal requirementsBasic Qualifications5+ years of experience in document control or records management within a highly regulated environment (e.g., nuclear, pharmaceutical/biotech, aerospace/defense, or similar)Familiarity with regulatory recordkeeping requirements and the concept of a records custodian roleComfort working with electronic document management systems and an interest in applying automation to improve process efficiencyStrong attention to detail, particularly around version control, signoff procedures, and metadata accuracyBachelor's degree, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experiencePreferred Skills And ExperienceDirect experience with NRC recordkeeping and records-management requirements for a 10 CFR Part 70 (or comparable NRC-licensed) facilityExperience managing or supervising document control/records staffCertification such as Certified Records Manager (CRM) or ASQ Certified Quality AuditorExperience supporting regulatory audits or inspectionsExperience in a fast-paced or resource-constrained startup environmentAdditional RequirementsAbility to work extended hours and weekends as necessary.Equal Opportunity EmployerGeneral Matter is an Equal Opportunity Employer; employment with General Matter is governed on the basis of merit, competence and qualifications and will not be influenced in any manner by race, color, religion, gender, national origin/ethnicity, veteran status, disability status, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, marital status, mental or physical disability or any other legally protected status.Compensation And BenefitsThe base salary range for this role is $115,000–$150,000 annually.
Compensation bands are determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data.
Individual level and base pay is determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related skills, education, experience, technical capabilities and internal equity.
Please note that the stated salary range is an estimate and may be adjusted based on market conditions, business needs, or other factors.
