Python/SQL Developer

Python/SQL DeveloperGenesis10 is currently seeking a Python/SQL Developer for a contract position with a Global Financial Institution located in Charlotte, NC.

This is a 6+ month contract opportunity.We are seeking an experienced Python/SQL Developer with a strong background in Capital Markets and modern application development.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience building scalable solutions using Python, developing and optimizing SQL-based data solutions, and designing microservices in enterprise environments.

This role will partner closely with business and technology teams to deliver high-quality applications, data services, and regulatory reporting solutions.Responsibilities:Design, develop, and maintain applications, APIs, and microservices using Python and related technologiesDevelop, optimize, and troubleshoot complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and database solutionsBuild and support data pipelines, integrations, and reporting solutions across Capital Markets platformsPartner with business stakeholders, analysts, and technical teams to gather requirements and deliver scalable solutionsSupport regulatory, risk, and trading-related initiatives within Capital Markets environmentsEnsure data quality, integrity, and performance across applications and databasesParticipate in Agile ceremonies, code reviews, testing, deployment, and production support activitiesCreate and maintain technical documentation and development standardsRequirements:5+ years of hands-on experience in Python developmentStrong expertise in SQL, including query optimization, performance tuning, and database designExperience developing and supporting microservices and API-driven architecturesBackground working within Capital Markets, including trading, risk, regulatory reporting, or related financial systemsExperience with data modeling, ETL processes, and large-scale data environmentsStrong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC), Agile, and Scrum methodologiesProficiency with JIRA, Confluence, Microsoft Excel, and PowerPointExcellent analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skillsDesired Skills:Experience with cloud technologies and distributed systemsKnowledge of financial products, trading workflows, and risk management conceptsExperience with CI/CD pipelines, Git, and DevOps practicesFamiliarity with event-driven architectures and messaging technologiesPay range: $71.88 - $79.88 per hourOnly candidates available and ready to work directly as Genesis10 employees will be considered for this position.If you have the described qualifications and are interested in this exciting opportunity, please apply!
