Facilities Building Systems Technician SeniorUnder general supervision, maintains and repairs building systems to ensure safe, comfortable, and efficient operations.

Focuses on HVAC, mechanical systems, utilities, and building automation systems.

Responds to emergencies and supports facility operations across campus buildings.Required Skills & KnowledgeHVAC troubleshooting and repairBuilding automation systems (BAS/DDC)Boilers, chillers, steam, hot water, and chilled water systemsElectrical and mechanical systemsReading blueprints and technical manualsPreventive maintenance practicesCustomer service and communicationComputer skills (work orders, email, reports)Problem-solving and prioritizationBasic math including algebra and geometryMinimum QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED (or equivalent experience).4+ years of building systems, HVAC, or commercial/industrial maintenance experience.At least 2 years working with large-scale heating and cooling systems.Obtain during probation:EPA Section 608 Universal CertificationOSHA 10-Hour General Industry CardValid Ohio driver's license may be required.Preferred QualificationsAssociate degree, technical degree, or trade certification.Experience with Direct Digital Controls (DDC) and Building Automation Systems.Boiler operator license.Knowledge of university building standards and construction processes.Physical & Work Environment RequirementsPush/pull up to 70 pounds.Distinguish colors.Climb and work on ladders for extended periods.Work in:Hot or cold environmentsDusty or dirty conditionsTight or confined spacesMay work overtime and be on 24-hour emergency callLocation:University Hospital - Doan Hall (0089)Position Type:RegularScheduled Hours:40Shift:Second Shift
