Senior Engineer – Java / Spring Boot / React / Open SystemsGenesis10 is currently seeking a Senior Engineer for a contract position with a Regional Financial Institution located in Columbus, OH.

This is a contract, hybrid opportunity.

Compensation: $50.00 - $60.00 per hour, W2, based on qualifications.Position Overview: This role involves designing, developing, testing, and deploying highly scalable enterprise applications.

The ideal candidate will lead the development of full-stack applications, including RESTful APIs, microservices, and responsive React-based user interfaces, translating business requirements into secure and maintainable software solutions.Key Responsibilities:Design, develop, test, deploy, and support highly scalable enterprise applications using Java, Spring Boot, React, and modern open-system technologiesLead the development of full-stack applications, including RESTful APIs, microservices, backend services, and responsive React-based user interfacesTranslate business and technical requirements into scalable, maintainable, and secure software solutionsDesign and implement cloud-ready, distributed, and service-oriented applicationsDevelop high-quality Java applications using Spring Boot, Spring Framework, JPA/Hibernate, and REST APIsBuild reusable and maintainable React components and integrate front-end applications with backend APIsParticipate in application architecture and technical design activitiesLead or contribute to the modernization of legacy applications into open-system, API-driven, and microservices-based architecturesDevelop unit, integration, and automated tests to ensure application quality and performancePerform code reviews and provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior and mid-level engineersTroubleshoot complex application, integration, performance, and production issuesCollaborate with product owners, business analysts, architects, and other technology teamsParticipate in Agile/Scrum ceremoniesImplement secure coding practices and support CI/CD pipelinesMonitor application performance and identify opportunities for improvementCreate and maintain technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and API specificationsStay current with emerging technologies and recommend improvementsPrimary Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience7+ years of software engineering experience with enterprise application developmentStrong hands-on experience with Java and Spring BootStrong experience developing RESTful APIs and microservicesProfessional experience with React, JavaScript, HTML, and CSSStrong understanding of object-oriented programming, design patterns, data structures, and software engineering principlesExperience with relational databases and SQL, such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, or SQL ServerExperience with Git and modern source-control practicesExperience with unit testing and automated testing frameworksExperience working in an Agile/Scrum software development environmentStrong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skillsAbility to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teamsStrong verbal and written communication skillsDesired Skills:Experience designing and developing cloud-native applications using AWS, Azure, or Google CloudExperience with microservices architecture, event-driven architecture, and distributed systemsExperience with Docker, Kubernetes, and containerized application developmentExperience with messaging and streaming technologies such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or IBM MQExperience with CI/CD and DevOps tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab, or Azure DevOpsExperience with Spring Cloud, Spring Security, OAuth2, and JWTExperience with TypeScript, Redux, React Query, or other modern React technologiesExperience with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, DynamoDB, or RedisExperience with API management, API gateways, and enterprise integration patternsKnowledge of AWS services, cloud security, observability, and application monitoringExperience modernizing legacy applicationsExperience with performance tuning, scalability, resiliency, and high-availability architecturesExperience working in financial services, banking, insurance, or other highly regulated industriesExperience providing technical leadership and mentoring engineersFamiliarity with AI-assisted software development and modern developer productivity toolsOnly candidates available and ready to work directly as Genesis10 employees will be considered for this position.If you have the described qualifications and are interested in this exciting opportunity, please apply!
