The To Laboratory joined the School of Biomedical Sciences, Faculty of Medicine (CU Medicine) in September 2026. The laboratory studies mitochondrial physiology in cancer and other diseases, combining pooled genetic screening with functional readouts, live-cell imaging, and chemical and protein tools for measuring and controlling organelle function.
The appointee will be a founding member of the laboratory, carrying out mammalian cell-based and functional genomics experiments and assisting with laboratory set-up, protocol development and core facility coordination.
Applicants should have (i) a Bachelor's degree or a Master's degree plus at least four years of post-qualification full-time work experience or a PhD degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Biomedical Sciences, Biomedical Engineering or a related discipline; (ii) at least two years of hands-on laboratory experience in mammalian cell culture and molecular biology; and (iii) direct experience with genetic or genomic manipulation, such as CRISPR/Cas9 editing, lentiviral transduction, RNA interference or stable overexpression. Candidates with experience in pooled CRISPR screens, next-generation sequencing library preparation, flow cytometry, live-cell imaging, or laboratory management and safety compliance will be preferred. Candidates who intend to pursue a PhD subsequently are welcome to apply.
